Kindergarten 4 and 5 years

Help us find the ingredients of Eugénie's secret recipe for turning rocks into gold! This activity introduces little ones to the discovery of old objects and the way of life of Gaspesians of yesteryear.

Duration: 45 minutes

1st cycle

Through association games and brainstorming, students discover the usefulness of old objects and try to find out how they evolved. What's more, following a short discussion on their collections, they'll have to invent their dream museum by drawing it. In this activity, students put their creativity and critical thinking skills to the test.

2nd cycle

Through association games and brainstorming, students discover the usefulness of old objects and try to identify their evolution. Following this first activity and a discussion of museum collections, they'll be invited to create their own exhibition! They will have to manipulate objects and create a safe space to display them.

Duration : 45 minutes

3rd cycle

Students are invited to explore the professions of museum technician and curator by creating their own exhibition. Be careful, these jobs require meticulousness, methodology and creativity! They'll have to clean the objects and then fill in a form that requires them to observe, write down and take measurements. Finally, they'll have to create an exhibition to showcase their artifacts.
