Seasonal student job: Reception and boutique agent
The Musée de la Gaspésie is a regional museum whose mission is to preserve and promote the history, heritage and culture of the Gaspé. We rely on a team of passionate professionals who share the same objective: to offer Museum visitors a unique experience related to the history, heritage and culture of the Gaspé!
JOB DESCRIPTION AND MAIN DUTIES
Under the authority of the General Manager, the Reception and Boutique Agent performs all or part of all of the following functions:
- Receive, inform and guide visitors regarding the services of the Museum and the exhibits presented;
- Issue tickets, manage reservations by phone, online or directly with the visitor on site;
- Use the cash register to collect payments;
- Plan, create and carry out the store's product display on a regular basis;
- Participate and collaborate in the running of events;
- Other Items: Perform any related tasks.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Candidates must be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program, i.e. be between the ages of 15 and 30, or Young Canada Works, i.e. have been a full-time student at the winter 2021 and plan to return there, full-time, in the fall 2021 semester.
- Ability to speak fluently in both official languages (French and English);
- Have knowledge and a strong interest in Gaspé history, heritage and culture;
- Have customer service skills;
- Have an interest in local artisans and products;
- Be able to organize a schedule and manage reservations;
- Be a dynamic, responsible, versatile, autonomous and creative person;
- Like teamwork and have initiative.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- $14 per hour;
- 35 hours per week;
- Variable schedule (including evenings and weekends);
- Start: May - June
