The Musée de la Gaspésie is a regional museum whose mission is to preserve and promote the history, heritage and culture of the Gaspé. We rely on a team of passionate professionals who share the same objective: to offer Museum visitors a unique experience related to the history, heritage and culture of the Gaspé! JOB DESCRIPTION AND MAIN DUTIES Under the authority of the director general, the library clerk performs all or part of all of the following functions:
  • Register the books available at the Archives Center library in the new database;
  • Receive, inform and direct visitors to the services of the Museum and the Archives Centre;
  • Participate and collaborate in the running of events;
  • Other Items: Perform any related tasks.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS REQUIRED Candidates must be eligible for Young Canada Works programs, i.e. be between the ages of 16 and 30, AND, have been in full-time studies in the winter 2021 semester and plan to return there, on time. full, in the fall 2021 semester.
  • Ability to speak French. Knowledge of English is an asset;
  • Have knowledge and a strong interest in Gaspé history, heritage and culture;
  • Have customer service skills;
  • Have basic computer knowledge;
  • Have a good ability to communicate and popularize information;
  • Be a dynamic, responsible, versatile, autonomous and creative person;
  • Like teamwork and have initiative.
  • $14 per hour;
  • 35 hours per week;
  • 7 weeks
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
  • Start: July 5, 2021
